In-kind Gifts
Special Advocates are not reimbursed for the cost of activities they share with their child. For that reason, Advocates are reassured that their time is the most valuable gift. However for special occasions, Special Advocates do like to treat their Advocate child to an extra fun event or outing.
We are grateful to receive tickets to community events, plays, sporting events and movie theatres so Advocates can treat their children to special outings.
Foster children rarely have a chance to experience normal childhood activities and celebrations. Special Advocates are often the only adults who remember and celebrate a foster child’s birthday.
For that reason, gift cards to local stores (e.g. Target, Old Navy) are greatly appreciated. Gift cards are especially needed around Holiday time.
